Where are you all mounting the return line on the gas tank? I'm guessing close to the filler neck but wanted to see if anyone had any good ideas.

My tank has a seperate connection for the Return line. You can Tee it in right after your supply petcock off the tank.

You have your return line teed into the supply line? Not to a high point on the tank?
Is that correct?

I would much rather tee it back in to the supply line if that will work. Otherwise I have to drill and tap the tank and drill another hole in my shiny diamond plate.

Railhomie my tank has a seperate return line. I also have two seperate supply lines into two seperate fuel pumps (one for each bank). Teeing into the supply line at the bottom of the tank will work just fine. Think of it as a recirculation mode. Your fuel pump is down stream of the connection and will be sucking on both the supply and return lines.

I put a tee after the shutoff valve, with supply on one side and return on other, Hope it works!

Mine is the same. 'T' into the supply line in front of the primary fuel filter.

Very cool! I'm glad i asked. Saves me drilling and tapping and I think the install looks allot cleaner without the return line sticking out on the top of the tank.

You dont need to put the return line on the the top of the tank. Its under presssure so it can also go into the bottom of the tank (thats were mine is). It only has to overcome 1' of head (the height of the gas in the tank).

I put mine in the top of the tank. I just drilled a hole in the top, cleaned out the tank, and had a friend weld an aluminuim fitting in it. Having it at the top makes it easier for any air or boiling gas bubbles to escape. It also keeps the fuel cooler by circulating the entire tank of fuel.
