I got my head decked 160 thou.On a 2.3 ford, with a adjustable timing gear. I wonder if someone had a ideal on how much to advance or retard the gear?I know a degree wheel wold be the way to go,but i aint got one and would't know ho to use it any way.I don't think valve clearance will be a issue, it's got a small lift cam (450 I think )and flat top pistons with valve reliefs. We adjusted it last year by (seat of the pants feel)but it was a diffrent head and piston combo. Any ideals welcomed, if not I guess it's back to ''seat of the pants'' thanks for any help.

I wouldn't know the exact amount but if you decked the head your timing at a straight up setting would actually be retarded slightly. Try www.turboford.com or call Esslinger's on Monday.

I was thinking of cam timing too. I won these on ebay just dont know how set them up. They have 10 deg plus or minus adjustment. [img][/img]
