My engine has developed a leak . After sitting for about a month I fired it up and it is leaking oil pretty bad from behind the cam belt cover... Some of you Subaru Guru's got any idea what I'm getting into? Isn't the oil pump back there? I will pull the cover off soon and investigate.

could be a couple things that could leak inside the covers. cam seals, crank seal, oil pump and cover. only takes a minute to remove the timing belt housing for inspection

Right on target Bill. Since your going to open up the covers might as well change water pump and oil pump along with the belt. Cheap insurance. You'll probably have a harder time removing the covers than doing anything else.

The only thing an AC engine doesn't leak is coolant. I'm fixing the oil leak. I'm changing the whole oil pump seal , O-ring and all .
