I would wire up a DPDT (double pull double throw) switch
that either connects the fans to the computer system or
turns on the fans directly.
This is because I do not trust sensors. Water cooled computer
systems and sensors are set up to run the engine great...right
up until the engine seizes.

Thanks jimp, I understand how everything works. I just wanted to know where everyone who has a 2.4 was installing them. like in the radiator or on the right side of the engine. Thanks.

Run them in the radiator itself... Or anywhere in the coolant flow. Or on the right side of the engine where the coolant overflow bung is located...

Years ago when I ran a motor out of a Saturn, I put my fans and fuel pump on the same toggle switch, you can't overheat the motor without fuel.

Great idea. I like my cooper throwbar where every thing is cut out when it is open. B4 you crank it has to be closed therefore the main fan has to be on. An additional fan is on a separate toggle switch coming out of the throwbar. In an emergency , open the throw bar and everything is dead. Example: wire fires! Fan relays are cool but, they can go bad (moisture) and ruin a motor. Remember a cast iron block is more forgiving and will restore an aluminum head back to flat. But an alum. head and alum block will warp and stay warped if overheated too many times. Keep everything simple , direct and effective. There are 2 types of common relays. Normally open and normally closed. 1 needs current to open the circuit and the other type needs current to close it. I think the diagram stamped on the relay box will show open or closed. I installed the wrong one a month ago. lol When I would get mad cuz the fuel pump would not work I'd turn it off and boom it would start working. lol
