Just tossing something out there but couldn't you raise the back of the trans up some, just enough to not need to redo your under bars and skid pan. It would also improve your departure angle so less banging at the rear of the cage. Doing this is a little more than just jacking up the back of the trans but it might be worth looking into. If I recall correctly I pitched up my trans about 8 degrees lifting the motor up a couple of inches.
Just thinking out loud.

An old semi truck mudflap cut to fit between the oil pan and skid-plate seems to help alot.

I think the 2.4 is different then my 2.2 on the fuel rail but mine has a return and the pump needs it I tried to run a tee with the return right at bottom of tank, and the pump over heated and got extremely loud, I ran a return to tank and now the pump stays cool and can barely here it even when the motor is off, the pump seems to like the fresh fuel constantly running through it. if your gonna run a system with no return better make sure the pump is designed for that. Fyi I used a universal walbro pump, got off eBay for 100

Im running a ac delco ep424 pump with a reg. If you dont want a return you should run a surge tank. Then just run the return in to it and never lose pickup. Also you can not hear the pump at all.

Also that pressure are you running if its to high it will shut off like that. And will not restart till it sets and drain back down.
