Post subject:  Question about Hi-Torque Starter

I have a 3.5L VTech and it will not start when it warms up. It will jump start with no problem and the alternator is charging fine. I figured the battery must be the issue and I replaced the battery.

Still having the same problem with the new battery. If the buggy has been sitting for days, it will fire up with no problem. However, once the engine warms up, the engine will not turn over.

I am currently running a VW 094 starter for an Automatic bus on Honda V6. I think I need a hi-torque starter but I wanted to make sure that sounds correct before I drop $200 on a new starter.

I had that problem and it turned out the cables were corroded inside. Id check them and make sure you have good grounds. I ran the auto stick on my suby and never had a problem after new cables

The solonoid contacts are a prime suspect for that too, they overheat when hot and the resistance goes up so far there's not enough current passing to crank the engine.
