I don't know the dimensions but it will fit if a VW engine did, I seen to many swaps that didn't require extending the cage.

A 1641 will take you anywhere you want to go. The darn things don't make tons of power but you can't kill them. If you are new to the sport run the AC for a year and learn the ropes.

ok i will see how i like the 1641 on the hills.....

ive drove it a few times and it just doesnt seem like it will have the poer to turn the tires fast enough to do alot of climbing....but what do i know??? lol

im gonna have a local buggy builder that lives here in monticello (predator buggies) cut my v treads for me and see if that helps.

it takes about the same amount of room as the bug engine with a header does. . You will be very happy with an ecotec.

it looks like 21" from the trans to the bolt in the crank.

My was also 22" to the rear cage. fits fine you can look at my swap. however When I pull it out I will be cutting out the rear of my buggy and making it where I can bolt it back on.

good luck and if you have the money to swap and can find parts I would start it NOW. If not start buying then swap it next winter.
