Hey if any of you guys run across a Honda s2000 engine, harness, and ecu looking for this in the future to build a single seat car. I have an old Rabbit racing chassis in the weeds back in Florida. I have been watching the video's and I think I need another project.

One of these would be awesome in a buggy they crank hard, light, with a good amount of power. The trouble is when you find one you will pay an arm and a leg for it.

This a project like some others I have seen on here. I plan to buy some parts here and there and eventually I will have a class 5 car that I can race and hill climb when I need an adrenaline fix. I just like the RPM range of up to 11,000 rpm and power to burn. I think the engine can be had for round $1500.00 from Canada. I was told that they are popular in Class 5 cars up North.

The 3.2 Acura is powerful and cheat but it will not work in Class 5.

Make sure your gearing is good. Just my time to chime. Sorry. Those Hondas may have 160 h.p. but NO torque.Take my 140 hp out of my old truck and put in a 4 cyl high hp motor and it can not pull out of it's own tracks. I'm looking into those motors this winter for a winter project but will have chain sprockets to make hp into some torque.Just comparing notes so we can all figure out this game. When those round track cars get going there are no hills or chugs in the track. When they get lit they are lit, but put an ugly long hill in the mix and they will bog and can not recover.Only their momentum will help for a little.Been watching those violent rock crawlers lately. They just tickle the gas and four 44 inch cut boggers just lite up as they leap 10 ft in the air. Now that is torque and hp!But their kids cannot go to college or wear shoes.

The S2k motors are quite popular in the class 5 cars at Crandon in Wisconsin. I am planning a build for a Stadium/ short course and hill climber. Most likely I will be running a 091 with a 5.42 and 33" tires. So I am open to other choices but I have to stay with a 4 Cylinder. Integra VTECH's are reverse rotation so they are out. I have looked at the Echotec 2.2 but I don't think it has the RPM range. I may have misunderstood you are you talking about a Rotary? I would agree that a rotary would be a poor choice for a hill killer, great drag car power plant.

Yep, for now.

Anyone that says lack of torque is an issue in either the s2k motor or the rotary can come over here, and sit in mine while it lights third gear up from 2krpm upwards, and then tell me that.

Have gotten this thing running? I have sourced a gently used s2K from Canada for $3,000 with the harness and ecu. Are you running the factory ECU or an aftermarket?

I'll be running the DTA S80 from the old engine.
