You really think you could baby a corvette buggy, lol.first thing your gonna do is back it out of the garage and dump the clutch :D you are gonna need to build a tranny that can handle that motor.but it does look wicked with those headers sticking out like that.good luck, post a video of that thing running.Chad

I pretty much see ever body on here doing just exactly that 8)

There is only one thrill better than having absolutely more horsepower than you can use!

the stress is spread out..instead of trans and CVs takin all the load, its spread out to the chains as well. kinda how a 4 spider diff is stronger than a 2 spider diff

It's because it effectively gears the shocks going back through the transmission up, it's just like having a larger diff with a higher ratio CW+P

The stress relief is from the gear reduction. So instead of the trany turning the axle and cv and a 36 in tire it now is turning a 13 tooth sprocket.think about it. Connected to the tire with a #80 chain with a 33 tooth rear sprocket. So it's just like if you put e dirt bike motor hooked to the rear tire sprocket it would turn it but it would kill the clutch.run it threw the front sprocket and it will smoke the tire

Intersted to see how everything holds up. I was thinking of doing this before I put the ecotec in since I didnt think anything can hold up to the power.

Is this the L33 votec? (aluminum block)

hell yea 8).. think i would weld that bottom bracket, with that much weight and torque i would worry about those bolts coming loose.. and may weld a bar down from the frame rail to help support it IMO.. keep the pics coming

i am gonna wait to weld the bottom half of the bracket till after after i change the oil pan going from a 8.5" deep sump to a 5" deep sump.i put it on the scales the other night and it weighed 1996 lbs with no one in it.loaded with passengers it had 73% percent rear weight.gonna move the battery to the front may help a little.

That's a heavy buggy but not as heavy as I expected. I wonder what an aluminum block LS engine would save for weight.

The Chevy LS Aluminum Block Engine completely dressed weighs in at 497.2 LBS
The Chevy Vortec version of the LS with Cast Iron Block Weighs in at 580.00 LBS about 80 to 100 lbs more.
