Im going to be running a ecotec with a 6rib and need a starter.

So what starter are you guys running on your ecotec's??

I have been thinking about milling the bell down to run a Firebug style starter

Will a stock 091 starter start it??

Thanks

Firebug has 1 for sale, the type he uses is the best I know of including those aftermarket hi-torque starters.

i tried a brand new stock 091 starter and it turns too slow. It did start it but barely. I put one of the high tourqe starters on and it wizzes right over.

I ordered one and the starter but the starter firebug uses is a 9 tooth this one calls for a 10 tooth just wanted to see if anyone has one

That adapter is a great idea,,then you still have your warantee on the starter. The ones I convert are altered and the waranty may not be good. I imagine the number of teeth is important and it should turn CCW . I am interested in hearing about the 10 tooth starter.
