The EAs didn't need revs to overheat
Plenty of EJs see high revs without overheating. I tracked my EJ22 wagon many times with an EA82 radiator. Even our built STi rally car did just fine with the stock system. We are running an aftermarket radiator now, but only because the stupid plastic endtanks cracked
