In the spring of 1992 my grand father bought a volkswagon beetle with te top cut off. My Dad and Grandpa already had dunebuggies. I was fixing to get married, and my Grandpa wanted me and my wife to be able to ride. He had bars bent to build a roll cage in the little beetle. We took the fenders off, and cutt off part of the trunk. My wife and I enjoyed riding. I had began looking for a tube frame later that summer. I seen one on the side of the road one afternoon, and stopped and looked at it. The owner told me an old man that looked 70 just bought it. When I got home Grandpa said let's go get your new dunebuggy, he was the 70 year old man. I have been buggying pretty much every since, and Grandpa and Dad have helped me on everyone of my buggies. I have building on my newest buggy strongly for the past month. My Grandpa had to be put in a nursing home in Otober 2008. He rode buggies up to September 2008. His health has been declining fast over the past year. Monday they admitted him in to the hospital, He pasted away this morning. He was a big influence in my life. This was just one fo the many things he has done for me. I have been out in the shop looking at the new frame wishing Grandpa was here helping me put it together. I hope to be a Grandpa like him some day.

Saddened by your loss, but inspired by the story. You are very lucky to have had the chance to share so much with your grandfather. He will be with you always.

Saddened to read of your loss. I can say the Pride you have for Your Grandfather will truly show through as you finish your build. I'm sure He will be looking down and seeing you through with it. You were truly blessed to have someone like him in your life, but you already knew that. GOD bless him, and be strong.
