Yeah, what year?
7.3 has a fuel filter, heater combination about in that spot.
I had a sensor go bad and leak from that device.
Think there are o-rings on those feed lines to it too.

This is a premier site for Ford Navistar diesel engines.

thanks gary,

I did a search on that site which told me the tube is a drain for the filter housing. It says that there should be a yellow drain handle back there and it is a common problem for the o-rings to go bad. I printed out a step by step guide on how to change them.

Does it sound like im on the right track to you guys????

Yes you are on the right track, remember it is very important that you pre-oil your o-rings when you put them on, that way it will not rupture on you when you put it together. Let us know how it went.

sorry it took so long to get back to this. -- i took it apart, spent 62 cents to replace the o-rings , put it back together and it fixed the problem

thanks gary and chad
