Being that I was born just as SAE measurements were being phased out of the auto industry (1977). I am somewhat unfamiliar with some of the less common sizes of fasteners that were/are available. While digging around in the garage this evening I came across a tool box of my dads that I had stored after he died. My wife lost my big tool box full of my "good" tools (about $2500 worth) so I am scrounging for something to work with.

Anyways I am digging and I keep finding sockets measured out in /32nds of an inch. I end up finding a complete set marked from 3/32 going all the way to 32/32nds. I kinda thought it a bit odd seeing a 16/32 and a 32/32. So, is this a common set or something out of the ordinary? They seem to be very high quality and the only markings are the size and "JAPAN".
