The only time I ever felt an earthquake was a few years ago when my ex-husband (but we were married then) was working in Barstow, CA......the morning after I got there, I was in the hotel room asleep and it felt like somebody was standing at the foot of the bed and shook it violently for a few minutes.....I about wet my pants
....I jumped up and it made me fall on the floor...I ran out of the room trying to pull on my clothes at the same time and saw the maid calmly getting ready to go into another room.....I hollered "What the devil was that?" and she said "that was just a little one, nothing to worry about" I decided that if the little one could throw me on the ground then I certainly didn't want to be there for a big one....It was bad enough that it cracked the plaster on the ceiling.....there were 4 or 5 smaller ones in the next couple of hrs but that was my one and only experience with an earthquake...........Didn't mean to hijack your thread, just wanted to share......I didn't realize that we had them in the Southeast.....
