Who all felt it? I sleep like a rock, and it woke me up at 5:37 am this morning! It was wild. I looked outside expecting to see someone's truck sticking out the side of my house! OR expecting to see a mushroom cloud somewhere in the sky. I'm only a few miles from Ft. Knox, so I thought them towel-heads might have sent a nuke at us.
Turns out it was a 5.4 on the Riechter (sic) scale centered several miles NE of us.

Yep I felt it. Was getting dressed this morning and it sounded like a bull was running through the house. Didn't know what it was at first.

The only time I ever felt an earthquake was a few years ago when my ex-husband (but we were married then) was working in Barstow, CA......the morning after I got there, I was in the hotel room asleep and it felt like somebody was standing at the foot of the bed and shook it violently for a few minutes.....I about wet my pants :!: ....I jumped up and it made me fall on the floor...I ran out of the room trying to pull on my clothes at the same time and saw the maid calmly getting ready to go into another room.....I hollered "What the devil was that?" and she said "that was just a little one, nothing to worry about" I decided that if the little one could throw me on the ground then I certainly didn't want to be there for a big one....It was bad enough that it cracked the plaster on the ceiling.....there were 4 or 5 smaller ones in the next couple of hrs but that was my one and only experience with an earthquake...........Didn't mean to hijack your thread, just wanted to share......I didn't realize that we had them in the Southeast.....
