I only knew NOT to buy gas when the truck is delivering to the > station! WOW!!!>> I don't know what you guys are paying for gasoline.... but here in > California we are also paying higher, up to $3.50 per gallon. But my > line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are > some tricks to get more of your money's worth for every gallon..>> Here at the Kinder Morgan Pipeline where I work in San Jose , CA we > deliver about 4 million gallons in a 24-hour period thru the > pipeline. One day is diesel the next day is jet fuel, and gasoline, > regular and premium grades. We have 34-storage tanks here with a > total capacity of 16,800,000 gallons.>> Only buy or fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the > ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations > have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground > the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, > so buying in the afternoon or in the evening....your gallon is not > exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity > and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol > and other petroleum products plays an important role.>> A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. If you look you will see that the trigger has three > (3)stages: low, middle, and high. The reason for this is, the more gas you > have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. Gasoline > evaporates faster than you can imagine. Gasoline storage tanks have > an internal floating roof. Hope this will help you get the most value for your money.

Gatorgal sent this to me, it is something that we need to know. If everyone filled in the mornings that would put a hurting on the profit margin for the Oil Companies.

The price of Gas versus Printer Ink

All these examples do NOT imply that gasoline is
cheap; it just illustrates how outrageous some prices are....

You will be really shocked by the last one!
(At least, I was...)

Compared with Gasoline......

Think a gallon of gas is expensive?

128 ounces in a gallon...

This makes one think, and also puts things in
perspective.

Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 . $10.32 per gallon

Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 .........$9.52 per gallon

Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 ........ $10.00 per gallon

Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 ..... $33.60 per gallon

Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 .. $178.13 per gallon

Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 . .......$123.20 per gallon

Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ..... $25.42 per gallon

Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 ...$84.48 per gallon

And this is the REAL KICKER...

Evian water 9 oz $1.49..$21.19 per gallon! $21.19 for
WATER and the buyers don't even know the source

(Evian spelled backwards is Naive)

Ever wonder why printers are so cheap?

So they have you hooked for the ink.
Someone calculated the cost of the ink
at............... 1 oz. $40 (you won't believe it....but it is true........)
$5,200 a gal. (five thousand two hundred dollars)

So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car
doesn't run on water, Scope, Whiteout, Pepto Bismol, Nyquil or God
forbid, Printer Ink!

Just a little humor to help ease the pain of your next
trip to the pump..

Those are some pretty interesting stats for gas. If shit ever hit the fan and I needed to choose the cheapest out of those, better believe I'd be throwing Lipton Iced Tea bags in my gas tank followed by water. Who says you couldn't find a loophole :P
