Thanks for sharing the old newspaper articles. Johnny Cash would rise to the top of my personal favorites with Waylon and Conway also. Muscle Shoals also happened to be the home of my favorite guitarist Duane Allman. RIP Possum :(

He was a good one But my personal favorite is still Merle Haggard. But George Jones was Merle's favorite

like I said there are/were many legends, johny, merle, Waylon, Conway, and willie are all right up there also, I just tend to like ole George the most :wink:

the newspaper articles were sent to me by my sister who dated the murray guy (for about a year) that was mentioned in the articles, I've been to "George's office" in muscle sholas they/murray referred to and he has some very nice memorabilia and the walls/hallway were still painted up with notes from George's songs and "the possum" written over the doorway 8)
