Can't say I've ever seen a plasma and a tig in one unit. Don't know where your at, but Indiana Oxygen has always had the best prices i've seen (after haggleing them a bit). Buy Miller and Buy once!

Wouldn't own a duel purpose machine (tig, plasma) they probably share the same power source and when one goes bad they both go bad. All the welding equipment I own are Miller, three MIG machines one TIG and a plasma cutter. Buy a good one ONCE.

I have one of those plasma, tig, arc machines.
The plasma works very good for me.
The tig function works also, but is tedious.
Would I buy it again,Nope.
These guys are right, buy Miller.

I have the oldest welder/generator. It says U.S. Army Signal Corps 1940.Onan and Sons ,Minneapolis Minn./ Miller Welding. It has a 4 cyl flat head Jeep motor in it.It has 4 110 plugs and 1 220.It welds better than my new miller in the garage.71 years old and runs and welds like nobody's bussiness.

I am still getting good service out of this unit:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-3in1-50A-PL ... 4d327cfa1d

I am patching together my old buggy to get me through this season. This old frame
had places that my MIG kept burning through, even though I have many years
of practice! The TIG fills in any size hole that you have ...in a very short period
of time.
I never thought that I would use such a clunky piece of equipment, but the price
and small size is great! I even started using the thumb actuator instead of the
foot pedal!
The composition and size of the filler rod makes a difference too! I doubt if these
repairs that I am doing would hold up in critical areas (rollover protection), but
for patching, it is quick and easy.

The HF start quit on me today. This P.O.S. is brand new!
I opened up the box to see old technology points and they
did not even use tungsten!
I will reset the gap, finish the job, and then go buy a unit
that has solid state starting.
I refuse to scratch start arcs. My welds look amateur enough
as it is.

Post subject:  Accurate Tools 3 in 1 machine nightmare

I bought a used Miller TIG machine ...and got the frame repairs
done in one day. Thanks to all who posted on this. I paid more
than the going price, but the machine looks new and was sold
by a Pittsburgh race car builder who upgraded to an inverter unit.
I also got some TIG and MIG welding instruction from him that is
very valuable.

The "Accurate Tools 3 in 1" experience was a nightmare. It is real
easy to exceed the low duty cycle and there is no circuitry to protect
the machine. If there is protection, it was not working. I do not
even know what the duty cycle would be.
The high frequency (HF) went out first. I can still scratch start to
weld steel, but who wants to do that? Now I have no plasma cutter either.

For anyone considering these machines, be reminded that:
1) It is DC-TIG only. If you want to weld aluminum, DC welding
does not always work. AC always works, especially with HF continuous.
2) Argon gas usage. This unit hogs gas. The torch does not have
dispersion screens and the flow has to be set higher because of
that. There is no way to set pre or post flow either.
3) Parts. Where do I get this thing repaired and how much will
it cost?
4) When these clunkers break, you are always halfway through
a job and you have no "plan B" as was the case for me. The buggy
frame was upsidedown in the driveway when the TIG unit quit.

From what I can tell, your doing real good now with the welder you got. I can't imagine your work being any better....but I know...it's a new toy. Congrats on your new welder.
