Haspin Acres in Laurel Indiana offered to hold an event a couple months ago. I think it would be nice to have a 2nd location in the north, a little closer for all the Ohio riders. You cn camp anywhere, ride anytime, and put whatever flavoring you want in your mason jar
Not to mention this would be a close event for Jay2Cool to show up to and thank everyone for all their help. Then we could also see his buggy in person to see what we as a group can come up with to get him back in the woods. I know its a long ways from all our southern members, but it's a whole lot closer to where I have been told this site was started. I know it doesn't fall into the cirle of the South eastern classic, but it sure falls into Woodsbuggy territory.

Where is the south heavy???????? Replace Iron horse with a southern spot or atleast more middle like TN. Another OH park is gonna make it 5 northern parks to 2 southern, 1 middle or if you dont wanna call Windrock middle thats still 5 to 3... Or did I count wrong or miss something? Remember some of the Bama boys can make D&K. Almost none can make any ohio trip... LBL have any hills? Thats a great place.

Heck boyd, unless ya'll use a different map in the south then I'm confused. Kentucky has never been considered a northern state. Pretty sure the Ohio river was the main dividing line at one point.

Just using from top of MI to bottom of GA, Lexington is almost dead in the middle. And that is around 50 miles due south of Wheelers. I'm leaving florida out just as I am leaving out the New England states and keeping it to where the majority of us on here are located. I give you that wheelers is a northern event, but it is the only one, in my opinion. Now if you want to confine this to the south-eastern states then yes, D&K is northern.

Well now Dixie Boy I guess it depends on where you live. I consider Windrock down South, also if you want to get technical D&K's in the South as well. I've never been to LBL, heard it was a nice place.

Also just to ease some concerns this Park is less the 60 miles from the KY border of I75 in Cincinatti, OH. And It is still a 3 hour drive straight south for me to get to this one. I know some a few hours north of me if you really want to devide it evenly. Would really help my points if I was one of 3 competiters, lol.

Lady Bug that runs the campground at Wind Rock talks about the good riding at Pickett ohv area . I have never been there but I dont have a problem with Haspin or brimstone or lbl or wellsville or ........

Im dam sure glad he came all that way down too Rick! He needed too. I consider anything above TN north. Buttt like you said I guess its a matter of where you sit. When I was saying north vs south. I meant as in the main stream areas of buggies. Like central AL to central ohio. Not coast to great lakes... I know people expand much past all that though. Yall are all yankees! Get over it! Your not dirty south! lol Whatever im out of this fight. To many yankees.

hey nitro,i dont know you in person but i sure would like to meet you here soon because you seem like a really cool dude and i hate to see you have to drive so far south to ride with us,but(now dont take this in a bad way)Haspin acres does not have any hills to climb.Im sorry to say that about a park but its the truth and i am by no means an extreme hill climber.I have been there a couple of times and the only hill they have is one called Devils backbone and the last time i was there,there were samurai's climbing up it in reverse.Other than that all the hills are around 50 to 75 ft. long.I also understand that a park needs to charge some money to operate,but they charge $20 per driver and $10 per passenger,plus you have to pay a $5 fee for the membership card,even if it is for one day.now im not bitching about the prices,but its not worth that much for what little amount of riding they have.If the hillclimg series goes there i will too,but i wouldn't look forward to it.

i live five min from haspin they charge 15 a day per person the card is free if we get an event in their i might be able to get the price down to 10 bucks a person as for the hills their not as tall as the ones down south but theirs lots of places to cut fresh hills in the park and its allowed the closest event for me is d@k it takes me about for hours to get their it would be nice to have one event close to home

why not land between the lakes (lbl) its tennessee and kentucky, im not sure how they would feel about it, but i would be glad to do the foot work and phone calls if the commity would like, and i know first hand they have bad a$$ hills and lots of places to spectate???

Ive heard bunches of really really good stuff about LBL.Heard its great riding! Brandon do you know how the rules work there? I know they got real tuff on them at one point in time, then had to ease off cause they lost all there bussiness (imagine that).

there rules are mostly poster rules like most places!!! if you dont act stupid they will not bother you! although they do ask you leave the trails at dark, and boyd it is very very good rideing!!! and it is only 15 dollars per buggy for a 3 day pass thats it, and 8 dollars a nite for camping. no additional cost for riders.

Just thought Id throw out there a spot for the Northern half of the group. I understand it's a long drive and doesn't have a 200ft hills. But there are plenty that will work fine with a Indiana twist. As they say, when in Rome!

Well they must have seen me coming because they charged me $35 for me and my son to ride 1 day.Like i said the fee's dont bother me to much,but i rode that whole place a few times and didn't find much to really scare me.Believe me, i wished they would buy some more property so we could cut in some new hills,because im only about an 1.5 hrs. away.Im not dissing the park,i just dont think it has big enough hills,especially for the A-class gang.

I wish Mike! And you guys are probibly right, cant see the guys that live where all the current contest leaving the south for an event they need to go to. And the guys from the north arnt driving to the south for all these events. So I dont really see a reason to have one up here. LBL sounds good if the rules of the park allow buggy ridding mentality. We seem to be the party group of the offroad world. And I hate not being ourselves. It's just not the same.

Im willing to go anywhere, i love traveling and seeing new places,its better than sitting at home.I was just trying to prevent some more of "the kid" types of post in the future.Haspin is up to the committee and i will stand by there decision.Hell come to think about it,id like to buy some paddle tires and come up and cruise the dunes with Nitro,there has to be some fine looking a$& there in the summer time.
