Let me start by saying that the committee DOES NOT LIKE TO MAKE CHANGES to the official rules. The goal of the committee is to post the rules and leave them alone for the entire series.

However, the committee also want to remain flexible and correct any rules that are not in alignment with the intent of the rule.

In this case, the committee made a rule requiring 15 inch wheels with the intent of excluding ATV's and SxS's. Unfortunately, this rule was not only excluding ATV's and SxS's but also excluding actual Woodsbuggy's.

Since the intent was to only exclude ATV's and SxS's and not to exclude woodsbuggy's, the committee has decided to correct the 2012 official rules. The 15 inch wheel size rule has been removed and a new rule has been added stating 'No ATV's or SxS's are allowed to compete'
