I'm calling it the crab pot. Have you ever thrown a bunch of crabs in a pot alive and ready to be cooked and its a free for all to get out , no rules, one is almost out and another grabs it by the back legs and says uh uh we all gona die!We have a valley here called Wendy Hollow at Fultondale that NO ONE has been down in in 5 years.8 ways in and no way out.All of us drive down in there , park ,put $20 in a pot, walk to a collection point and when the horn blows everyone runs to there vehicle and the 1st 3 out splits the pot evenly. 3 hours later we do it again. What is $20?If you don't win so what? These winners are putting big dollars in their machines and time so wish them well. But regular buggies have a trump card. Get in their way! Get to the top (some will have to be pulled up by a 4x4 with a 300 ft rope with the buggy running afterwards)(or just stay down there for the next heat) and we will all laugh about who we legally cut off.You know the easiest climb will be the most crowded so you have to take a harder route.Brains ,tactics and power or ground clearance will win it so it's up to you to win it.The crowd from above can witness the whole thing. At nite around the fire it will open up all kind of conversation. It will get ugly and it will be fun.Maybe moreso by the audience.Oh ,I'll have an old Lazy Boy recliner at the top. |

Jesse you will soon. I havent been in there in a while but i know how to get out. The best way Ive found to get out of windy is to hold it to the floor and hope for the best. I do know this if you go in there you better have your ride ready for a beating. |

i dont know what to compare it to and i have only seen 2 of the hills but they steep and with deep ruts and rock ledges sticking out and on one if you leave the path you fall about 10 ft to the other path but theirs more down their i havent tried or seen pluss room for more |

Me and the Cahaba crowd are going out to Fultondale this week end. We will scout it all out.Come on out Jesse n Kevin.Alagasco is building a new gas line parallel to the old one, thanks to us.Maybe we can use it for access. They should be thru with it by now. It's like they told me years ago,"If we don't have any rutted out gas lanes to repair , we get laid off!"That goes for engineers designers supervisors and contruction workers and tracter repair workers. So see , we are well loved out there. |
