Nope, you'll have to change or convert the torsion to irs. |

i have seen a car one time that welded on the pivot for the trailing arms and cut his spring plates jus like the irs spring plates, its alot easier fix |

Trying to do it as cheap and as durable as possible just had twins so tight budget, I also think it is an aftermarket kit because it does not look like a stock swing setup |

To install the 3 rib T-2 transaxle you will need T-1 rear arms, swing to IRS conversion brackets, VW Thing or conversion axles, adjustable shift rod end, four T-4/T-2 cv joints and purchase or fabricate transaxle mounts. For my conversion I cut out the swing torsion housing and welded in an IRS torsion housing I had. The parts in the pictures you posted appear stock. Post some pictures of the spring plate /brake assembly. |

So how do I convert this to an irs setup, pretty sure I need new trailing arms etc... and I'm trying to do it on a budget but I still want to do this right |

Easiest way is with a donor VW so you can cut the torsion housing out off and have all the diagonal arm parts, axles, nuts, bolts and IRS tranaxle. There are two menber here who have found or are selling $350-$500 Bugs. I don't know about where you live but in Phoenix good T-1 swingaxle cores bring $125.00. Pans with titles $100-$200 so parting one out afterwards really lowers your final cost. On more than one car I sold the left over parts for more than what I paid. |
