i have a rail i got in a trade, runs great but shifter only moves forward and backward. Feels like maybe first to second but rotor was missing spline so i couldn't drive it. Guy said it was easy fix. Also came with another 3 rib partially disassembled and I've since bought another off a friend thats still attached to bus torsion. The guy said that I just have to take a cover off and realign something. I can run another but just looking to see what this one needs. A spare would be nice, i drive like an idiot.

i pulled off back cover and the pin was rusted to the cast piece that moves the shifting forks. I believe the rust is an after the fact deal. The pin seems to be a little bent. Anyone ever have this pin lock into the cast part?

tranny probaly been sitting for a while,if not its the bushing or bearing right behind the shifter,it has to be tight on the shifter rod

the rust is definately an issue but if the shifter has a lock out on it it could be installed wrong. i have done this before by mistake.since you already have the cover off you should gusset the metal over your shift forks to keep it from breaking

i already had it together yesterday and tried it today. Works fine. Also I have 2 more 3 ribs one is in pieces and one has the input shaft locked up but axles spin free. I am going to build one with all the 3 ribs goodies. What do you mean by gusset, is there possibly a pic or drawing. I really appreciate it. Also what does the super diff do for it. I have a crawler and understand axles and carriers but don't see what a super diff would do. Thanks a lot for helping a buggy newby

I DON'T KNOW OF ANY PICS BUT I HAVE SEEN THIS DONE ON TRANNYS BEFORE. THE BEST I REMEMBER IT BOLTS TO THE INTERMEDIATE HOUSING. WE WERE RIDING ONE DAY AND MY BUDDYS TRANNY MESSED UP AND THIS BAR HAD CRACKED HE WELDED GUSSETS TO IT AND FIXED HIS TRANS. HOPE THIS HELPS I DON'T KNOW THE PROPER TERM FOR THE PIECE I AM TALKING ABOUT

I put 2 tack welds on the forks that hold the through out bearing to the rod. Was told with stronger clutchs an spring plates these can break off. Not sure if thats what you guys are talking about but.
