Ok, might be a dumb question, but changing from a sedan transmission to a 6 rib. I've also changed my torsion housing from a '67 swingaxle housing to a 71 irs housing. Bought a bus to bug tranny adapter kit, however the piece that mounts to the nosecone doesn't seem like it will fit the mount on the torsion housing. It does however appear like it would bolt up to the old torsion. Is there another mount that I need or am I going to have to fabricate one? The 67 torsion originally had a 2 bolt mount and the 71 has a 3 bolt mount. I am mounting it solid, just putting that in there as a difference I've noticed.

You might want to lower the front mount and raise the rear mount to tilt the engine for more ground clearance,,just make sure the output flanges stay about the same...and custom make the front mount or alter the one you have to fit. good luck,,,take pics and keep us posted.

I agree with what Marty said. When I install a bus trans with a bus to bug mounting kit, I always modify the front mount so the nose of the transmission sits 3/4" - 1" lower in the frame. ALl you have to do is re-drill some holes. You will have to modify anyhow because of your 3 bolt mount. The adapter you have is designed for the two bolt mounts. Whatever you have to do to make it work.
