Alright so whom ever owned my buggy before me, had everything rigged together, so i tore it down this winter and found that they used all stock car brackets etc... to mount in the bus trans, it was a mess, so ends up now the trans is 3/4 inch farther back than it originally was, My question is with my linkage because it wont go into reverse and im not sure which other gears, I know it will go into 1st , so do i just add 3/4inch to the linkage? of make a complete new one or move the shifter box back the 3/4? any input would be greatly appreciated this is my last bug to work out then its time to ride! |

ok problem solved, I cut out about 1 inch of the linkage, welded a nut to each side and gonna put all thread in there to make if adjustable |

Glad you were able to figure it out. Having an adjuster in the shift rod is mandatory. |

Mine linkage was/is kinda bent up. Thinking of the same fix with 1/2" all thread. Is that about the right size? |

yes, thats what i used, a problem i ran into was everytime i would put it in reverse the linkage has to twist a little it would loosen itself just enough so that it wouldnt engage, so i welded a little tab on there that i can bend over onto the lock nut to stop that from happening. |
