Do you have any "anti-shocker" setups for a car tranny laying around? |

Nope, but the bracket is just a 1/4 piece of flat steel with 2 holes in it.. one for the damper and one for the bolt that holds the trans to the engine. The part number is: MA225 The company is: Air Hydropower number is (502)451-1000 |

I was at your house this weekend. That baby is too cute to be yours. Whats the chance of you letting me borrow your tire groover? "A friend in need is a friend indeed." |

Who was with you? Tina said you were here. Well, I know the baby is not Scotty's because there were no ladders or buckets around the bed! Yeah, I will loan you the groover.. |

Yeah, I will loan you the groover.. I had to go over to Lawton to fix a sign that someone ran over. Ricky Lewis rode over with me. Hmmm.... You may be in the clear if there wasn't a way he could climb up on the bed.... |

I would think that a Cushlock (or any clutch disk with the metal wavy washer between the fibers) would give you the same effect as the damper. Why add hardware you don't really need? |

I am probably gonna try a Cushlock first and see how it does. We used the anti-shockers back when we were drag racing and never broke a tranny after we started using them. I just don't like the "on-off" effect you get with a 4 puck clutch but I don't want it to slip too easily either. |

I ran kushloc's for a while but switched to 6 puck with stage 2 pp and am really liking it. the new motor has 6 puck with stage 4 but havent tried it yet. Lots of jelly buggys run stock clutch with stage 4 pp. But I am sure Eric Debord has the best suggestion,,,,,good luck |

I just don't like the sudden shock you get with the 4 puck. |

Why run a stage 3-4 pressure plate?? I run a stage 1 with a 4-puck and it works perfect, never had any problems (slipping, shocking, etc.) |

Baddvw wrote: Why run a stage 3-4 pressure plate?? I run a stage 1 with a 4-puck and it works perfect, never had any problems (slipping, shocking, etc.) I should never have any reason to run such a heavy pressure plate with the buggy that I have now. Lightweight is definitely a plus in my case. I can't imagine driving a woodsbuggy with a stage4 all day, maybe for a strictly hillclimber but not one for general riding. |

I am currently running a stage 2 but I figured with the extra 100 ft pds of Torque with the 3.3 suby I would like a stage 3,,,but got a deal on a stage 4. |

From Eric Debordes Web Site. The Anti-Shocker What the heck is this? Well, the anti shocker is a device that fits behind your clutch arm that slows down the last 1/4 inch or so of the arms travel when you "pop" the clutch. This is REAL trans saver especially if you use big pressure plates. This actually allows the clutch to slip for a fraction of a second. You cant feel it, but it takes the initial shock off of your trans and it can definitely tell it. (your pocket book will too). I was breaking my race car every weekend until I put one on it, and it cured it. These are available from Gene Berg Enterprises in CA @ 1-714-998-7500. This will not help you once the clutch is released though, it just slows down the rate of which it is released. If you are riding off road, the worst thing you can do to a trans (besides drag race starts without a anti-shocker)is jump your buggy off of the ground and have power on it when it lands. The shock to the trans is incredible. If you will hold the clutch in until it lands, trans life and axles, drivetrain, will last a LOT longer. |
