I am upgrading to a Stage 4 pressure plate,,,got a deal on one on ebay...from a stage 2. I use a 3 rib bell housing. Will the stock cross shaft be sufficient? Can I expect it to be sufficient if I add more weld to the forks? What are other folks using...Oh yea,,I still use cable clutch too..thanks |

It oughta work fine if you weld it up like you said, 'bug. Thats what most 'round here runs. Larry |

I'd replace the cross shaft if it were mine. Especially running a S4 plate. The 3-rib housing has a bit weaker shaft setup over a 6 rib. Just have to figure out if you have an early or late 3 rib housing. Bugpack makes a good shaft kit. http://www.bugpack.com/content.php?id=331 |

Like this: ![]() Hard to see with this straight on picture but there is a guide sleeve around the imput shaft. This shaft has the full circle arm the TOB attaches to. I swiped this pic off the net so I don't know if it is stock or replacement. 091 and some IRS sedans had a real beefy cross shaft. Must use with pressure plate without the ring in the center. This is the early version. Has the TOB with the ears and hairpin clips holding it in place ![]() Must use with pressure plate that has the ring in the center. |
