While in Germany this week I spotted this VW truck. I think it is a military surplus truck. I wonder what the tranny is like for this thing? Are there any special German tranny parts that would be good to have shipped back? I found a salvage yard here and some guys that work on cars. I think some of the German trannies had a very strong diff. for the six rib. :?:

I'm sure that ther are many people on here that could tell me for sure, but I think the 4 spider six rib super diff. is actually a German VW HD differential out of something like what I have a pic of. I need to know for sure and what the going rate is before I try importing some. Importing stuff is not exactly cheap but depending on the going rate it could turn out for a good deal for people buying and a little fun and profit for me.

Looks like it could have a Vanagon origin.

Thanks Turboblue. Lots of good info on the link. that will help when I go back to the salvage yard. I think my next trip will be just before Christmass so I hope the salvage yard isn't covered in snow when I get there.
