has anybody converted to corvair engine AND trans? If so what is involved, I can get 2 engines and a trans for $400 and engine and trans are still in car.

Corvair used to be a pouplar engine used in Buggys however with the Limited parts avalability they are usally passed on.

A person wants to sell me a '65 motor and trany (still in car) and a '69 motor for $400 both were running when parked or pulled. I was looking for a bus trans when they sugested that.

ok! I just saw it this. thay are air cooled. A corvair is only 40lbs heavyer then a vw. twin carbs in stock form are 95hp or 110hp 4 carbs is a 140hp they made a 180hp in turbo thats around 2700cc for you vw men. you can get a big bore kit around $1200 that will make it 3200cc thats with vw 92mm vw pistons. a corvair turns back asswards to almost eveything else in the world. get the rev. rotation cam to fix this problem. real easy to do. even made more hp when done. any more questions just ask. p.s. they are kick ass with 46ida triple webers
