I finally got a buggy I bought dbiky buggy but the shifter will not lock out reverse does anybody know how to remedy this situation thanks for any info |

the lock out plate is in but when you push the button on the shifter it is not raising the pen. And you can still hit reverse |

It will move it maybe an 1/8th inch it acts like the cable is stretched. Is there a rebuild kit for this shifter? |

Make sure that the lockout plate is not in upside down or on the wrong side. This is a common mistake that people make when putting the shifter together. also you can slide the shifter adjustment back and forth until it works right. If after you check all these things and it still won't work right. The only thing that I would do is put in a stock Beetle shifter assembly. Over the years I have found that nothing seems to work as well as the old stock shifter. Jim |
