 Post subject: HELP WITH SHIFTER SETUP

I need help setting up my shifter. Do I start in neutral or 1st gear what. I as of right know I dont even have to push down to put it in reverese. Whats my problem please help. Its a stock shifter set up

With shifter removed from the car make sure the shifter socket is in the middle of the hole when the trans is in neutral. Make sure you have a lockout plate installed under the shifter base when you put the shifter back in.. Make sure you have an adjuster welded in the shift rod someplace. Loosen the adjuster and put the shifter in neutral. From thins point it's small adjustments till you get it perfect. It takes some practice. You have to find second gear and lock the shift rod adjuster while it's engaged in 2nd gear. Then your adjustments from this point will be VERY small.
