i'm not sure what tranny i have, but i have bus axles now and don't know what i need to do to fiut them on to the tranny, where to old axle bolted up these new ones are to big.....HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!

If the bus cv's wont bolt up to the tranny, then you must have a car tranny. Both type1 (car) AND TYPE2(BUS) CV'S have the same splines in the middle, but the bolt pattern is bigger on the bus cv. Do you have extended rear trailing arms?
If not then you cant use the bus axles. You can run the bus cvs on the outer end of the axles, IF you get some redrilled stub axles, or have yours drilled and tapped to match the bus cv bolt pattern. I guess you can get your tranny flanges drilled out to run the bus cv's inboard , too. (I Dont know, I've always had a bus tranny). Post a pic of your tranny and someone on here can tell you what you got. Roy probably knows all the numbers on them by heart!

i have the trailing arms that dean weilds. i will snap some pictures today and get them up... i have bus axles and bus stub axles now i need to know if there is any way to mount them to a car tranny...

Leave the bus CVs at the stub axle end.
Change the transmission end to the sedan CV.

The only way I know is to use car CV's @ the tranny (not a good method) and the bus one's at the stub axle. Maybe someone makes flanges for the car tranny to fit bus CV's, but I don't know of one.

Yeah I used to stock those but when the last pair sold I quit.
Not much market for that conversion.
I can still get them...........I think.

If he does have a car tranny in it and is looking for a set of conversion output flanges, he can do a search for some VW THING flanges. They will slide right on his transaxle. Or he can try to find the whole transaxle out of a THING.

One more option is to send the stock cores up to precision alloy and have them convert them. This runs 38 bucks each.

Unless you have better luck than me,i always broke the car tranny before the car c.v. broke. You should look into getting a 3 rib bus tranny and using your bus cv's with it.
