Can I use an 091 case as a jig to set set up my 002?

3 and 5 rib can share a jig but 091 is just for 091.

Then how do you run 002 gears in an 091 case? I know you can't do it the other way around but I know guys that run 002 gear set in a 6 Rib 8)

I dont think I is the gears. I know the reverse idler is different. Its been years since I screwed around with either. I know I ended up throwing all my homemade jigs in the fire and used a "plate" style jig. I worked much much better and you had to use spacers for an 091 leading me to believe the mail shaft and pinion shaft are longer.

The main case from either will work for a jig, but you would have to use the reverse idler shaft from the 3 rib to hold the reverse idler gear.
