Does any buddy know were I can buy a manual on how to rebuild bug and bus trannies? |

not sure on manual but there is a video for sale out there. there isn't a ton to know about rebuilding them. if you can rebuild a motor, you can rebuild a trans. You just need to spend a few hundred bucks on tools and a jig. |

Thanks, I did find the vids, and the same place sells a really nice jig for setting up the shifts forks, Looks like I will be spending some bucks to get all the right tools |

If you don't want to spend the money on a jig I made one out of a old 3 rib case and its just setting here if you would want to borrow it and promise to give it back but only if you promise |

Truthfully the only special tools you need is a pinion nut socket, an old tranny case cut out, and some skills. |

be careful if you do the homemade jig!!! I made one for 3 ribs, rebuilt about a dozen trannys and then found out every one of them was off just a little on the 3rd/4th fork. It was a BLAST re-rebuilding them after that. My 6-rib jig always worked out good for me. it is well worth the money for the jig I ended up buying. |

Pinion nut socket, socket for the screw in side pieces for the diff bearings, a good shop press and a good bearing separator (clam shell) and your in business. Good common sense and some experience and you are set. They are really simple once you do a couple you will see. |
