If you use the 5 rib bellhousing, you will definitely need to trim down the input shaft or use the input shaft from the 5 rib. Either way will work.
If you decide to use the o94 bellhousing, you could weld an arm on the cross shaft in the position you want but this would make servicing any bushings impossible at a later time. Probably not your best option. If you do decide to use your 5 rib bellbousing and input shaft, let me know. I would be interested in buying the rest of the 5 rib for parts.

I guess you could weld one on, just as long as your a decent welder as that will have alot of stress and will leave you stranded.. I just always had a few extra bellhousings laying around. I drove my woodsbuggy (094 with 4.86) and my race buggy (6rib nose shift 4.56) both around yesterday and I just love the 094 even with stock gears. You will love it!

I have a welding instructor that is a great welder...and he said the same thing about welding a new lever to the old one...99/100 it may last a long time...then again, when I need it it might fail. So I am leaning towards putting the 5 rib on the 6th and rolling that way. I will know more later today.

Last question....well maybe...I have the early 3 rib without the extra mounting ears and I think a busted r&p, and a 5 rib with reverse out of it. I'm thinking the 5 rib with the extra mounting tabs is the one I need to use. But I hate to bust it up when it only needs reverse. For mounting the engine in I do use the original v6 motor mounts welded to the lower tube frame. Suggestions?

Also,when changing the bell housing and putting the 1/8" strengthening plate in it, does anything else have to be changed? Extra spacer?

use the 5 rib bellhousing and you can save the 3 rib housing for the 5 rib. I think you need to mill the face of the bellhousing the thickness of the plate. At least the ones I have seen were done that way.

Thanks for the info...5 rib bell housing going on the 6 rib this morning. I have to fix the oil slinger first. Someone on here I think had a write up about it that I read a couple days ago. I'm glad I did cause it looked like it was supposed to be loose.
