i mean its prob not a bad price if you was doing one cause the gearsets are like 895 a pc times 2 plus 900 for trans and diff and having somebody put setting it up. i say its worth 2500 but im just guessing |

Go narrow baby chains and you can put a stock beetle in it. |

If it is a nose cone shift it has the regular reverse, you have to go side shift for the larger one (094). |

I have a the vanagon nose cone side shift , they can be converted to reg. Nose shift & have the big reverse , the case at weddle Is 247.00 with the thick ribs , Chuck converted mine over ! The side shift in the case cannot be I don't think , I think you will lose reverse , right ? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk |

so what is the deal with the ribs that get fatter toward the center of the trans? just a stronger case? or do they have the stronger reverse gear as well? i have a nose cone shift with the ribs that get fatter toward the center that im planning on a super diff. behind an ecotech 2.4. we all trail ride, but ill climb about any hill anyone else will. and passat why do you say 2 spider diff? that is the stock one correct? cause a super has 4? |

Yes, it is the stock 2 spyder diff. Here in the U.S. a 4 spyder came in '83.5 to '85 if it was special ordered. For example towing package, or camper. But all 85.5 and up have 4 spyders and there trans code is located under the drivers side lower corner will read ACW. So basicly 83.5 and up have the BIG gears. But I'd bust 1 a year with my w/c because any case would flex or even crack between the bell housing gasket and the lower right c/v threaded cup. Heavy motors and frame with tall tires, something will have to give. So I went baby chains... Problem solved..lol |

You cannot convert a true side shift (with the strong reverse) to a nose shift. You can convert a nosecone side shift to a nose shift, but reverse wont be any stronger than a normal nose shift. |
