Ok guys I need some help.....
I have to order axles and cut them down.
Can anyone tell me how much spline you need on an axle for the CV's?

They come with 2.5" splines after I cut them I would have around 1.750". I was told this is not enough but don't stock axle have around an 1". They said 1.750" would pull the CVs apart. I thought that lateral movement or plunge was in the CV not the axle?

The plunge is both in the CV and the splines. I do not have any stock axles here Someone else is going to have to answer that question.

are they bus or 930? if your buying them new, just buy the correct size. I think they come in 1/2" increments.

930
Measuring it, I need 19.625 to 19.750 and closest I see are 19.250 or 20.250

Thanks Mike
Does this sound right.... If I measure the distance cup to stud when the closest to farthest point and have under the 1.75 that the splines meas. I should be good?

Measure center of cup to center of cup when both are perfectly in line with one another. Then subtract whatever they recommend now, a quarter of an inch I think.
