Wondering if anyone has any tricks to the top starter nut .
It's so close to the bell housing you can only get a little 1/16 turn and the wrench head hits then ya have to dip the wrench and start all over again .....
Hate to try to do a trail if and have to deal with this , any suggestions ?

I second that, the factory bolt goes in from the starter side and the nut goes on the engine side. The bolt has a flat spot so it wont turn while tightening the nut.

I used a piece of 10mm threaded rod with nuts and lockwashers on each end, no problem

I think he is talking about the bottom nut. I use a head nut off a big stud case and it gives clearance and makes it easier.
