Drove my wife's 4 seater today for the first time and for a second I thought the transmission was in 3rd gear instead of 1st as it has VERY tall gears. Currently it has a bug tranny and I want to upgrade to a 3 rib tranny. I have a complete set of 15-5/8" axles from swing-a-way still in a box. I also got some Things end stubs. With this combo, can I run 3x2 or 3x3 trailing arms? |

15 5/8 axles are for stock trailing arms. You need 18 3/4 for 2x3 and 19 1/4 for 3x3 arms. |

The bus tranny is wider than the bug tranny though so this combo won't even work with the 3x2? |

The bus tranny is only a little wider than a bug/car tranny. Stock axles are a little over 16 the shorter 15 5/8 axles alow for the difference. A lot of people use stock axles but the 15 5/8 are a lot better in my opinion. Like I said before you need 18 3/4 for 2x3 arms. You can use stock bus axles thats what they are. |
