 Post subject: 6 rib missing geaRS?

Took the buggy out this weekend tried to clear a roaad cut out in hill cased it while turning around heard a pop so babyed it back to house thought it might be a cv on the verge of giving in first it would slip secound seemed fine but brother drove it and said it seemed to start sliping in secound this is secound six rib my last one blew reverse out and as some may no they are not cheap to come buy any ideals what i can do with it or best way to build it dont have a lot of money but wanting a lil stronger tranny i have a 2.2 subaru hooked up to it any info is apprciated thx

More than likely the welds that attach the synchro hub to the gear sheared. This is common Chuck Jones or Eric can fix it

pretty sure they are just pressed on from the factory

could be spider gears, broke cross pin, busted carrier or stripped/loose pinion nut also

If I understood Chuck correctly the hubs are welded at the factory on 091 trans. It is not the hd welding and honing that Gene Berg or Wedle does at the factory.

Just a thought if its not the diff see if u can take reverse out of
The second one and put in the first one so good luck with it

He sold the other one already about a year ago. It got tight to where you couldnt even role it then we got it free'd up back to the house you could put it in first let the clutch out and it was like it was in neutral then with the clutch still out it would pop in gear and go if you caught it at the right time or stall if ya didnt just like if ya popped the clutch without any throttle
