I am thinking about putting a VW jetta motor in my buggy, with a vanagon trans-axle. The question, is there any other VW bellhousing that I can swap in, so that I don't have to buy an adapter plate from Kennedy eng.?
Any help you guys could give me wold be great, Ethan

Thanks for the help guys. Davidk, I looked at the link, but I think that guy already had an adapter plate. I know that most of those water-cooled VW engines are the same. I am not very fimilar with the vanagon trans, what all do I need to know?
The motor is coming out of a 1999 VW jetta, if that helps.
Is there anywhere I can find a diesel bellhousing, that is reasonable, or even a whole trans? Close to Western Pa would be better.

Thanks again guys.
I am still unsure, if they are an exact match, the 1999 jetta, and the regular vanagon.
Dave, David or anybody know for certain if they are an exact match? I am going to have to buy a trans, so I have to give my buddy a year, code, or model number for the trans.
I have never worked on a Vanagon, thats why I don't completely understand.
