i went back and looked at it again.. i wonder if the threaded end that hooks to the trans is long enough?? looks like it may be a lil short to me.. maybe could call the # and get an overall length and compare to a CNC that we know works

was diggin around on ebay and saw this slave cylinder and then saw that it was a "pull" type, then saw the price and wandered if it would work with buggy hydraulic clutch pedal assembly? be real careful... there is a reason they painted it purple. It is important to use the rt bores and lengths.Last year I took off a 17 mm clutch master cyl and put on a 21mm.I pushed it to the floor and the pedal went limp and did not come back up.WTF! the guy at the clutch store on the phone said yep. "You over extended the pressure plate diaphram." He explained the press plate diaphram is cone shaped and if you go too far, the cone shape wants to pop the other way.So I removed the starter and reached in with a wrench and loosened all 6 press plate bolts as I turned the motor and with a little help from a screw driver , the press plate popped back into place.He said if I don't get the rt m/c or rig up a pedal stop that the diaphram rivets would wear and I would loose some clutch grip eventualy.Even if it don't pop the other way, quit using the poor little rivets as a limit stop. Let the pedal do that.Also,what are you going to do if it does not travel enough?Every thing I know, it was learned the hard way.lol this all happened on the Passat, but same principle. It actually had 10 bolts.But most important don't wear your rivets and press plate fingers out making your clutch slip and wear. |

it was just a thought, it's nice to be able to save a buck every now and then. I figured since it was for circle track setups that it would be pretty tough unit. I don't know why I'm lookin at it anyway just yet, I've still got a cable clutch...
