I am ready to get my axles and wanted to double check with some others.

#1. You measure from the deepest point of drive flange to deepest point on stub axle when they are leval?
2. Subtract .250" from number?
To take measurements I just installed inner bering and spacer but stub axle looks close to arm?

I get 17.250" minus .250 equals 17" axles?

My other question is they stock 16.750" or 17.5" axles would it be better to lose a .250" or cut down the longer ones?

In the pictures of tape at 17.250 I took cv flange off since transaxle splines are deepest point

To choose between one or the other I'd take a 1/4 inch off end of the 17-1/2 axles.I had a set that I had to cut like that and I also machined it back a 1/4 inch on the inside to allow the axle to still plunge in the cv. Chad :mrgreen:

Doesn't look like you have the seal installed on the drive flange. If it measures 17.25" without the seal I'd say you will be closer to 17" with the seal. If you take the .25" away the 16.75" axles seem like they would almost be perfect. Even if it gives you 3/8" play it won't hurt anything. Just my $.02

Best make sure the stub axle is in the arm correctly. Be sure the bearing is up against the inner face in the housing and the spacer is in.

The seal doesn't take up any space just the spacer the seal rides on.

The bearing is all the way in and snap ring.
And have the spacer on a the stub axle so I think 17" is solid
