can anyone tell me the difference between a stock 542 6rib and a 456 with 411 1st trying to decide what way to go

5.42; the input shaft [engine] will turn approximately 20.49 rotations for every 1 rotation of the rear wheels.
4.57; with 4.11 1st the input shaft [engine] 18.78 rotations for every 1 rotation of rear wheels.
That equates to the 4.57 being about 8.5% higher gear , plus the 4.57 will be the stronger of the 2.
I would go with the 4.57 with 4.11 1st.

one more question they do not sell 411 anymore now its 425 first so what is the calculation between that and the 542 and thanks for the info

4.57 with 4.25 1st would be 19.42 rotations of engine for 1 wheel rotation.
It would be 5.5% higher in 1st than a stock 5.42.

haha im glad someone knows his math and thanks for the info im just deciding what to put in my trans or go the cheap way out with the 542 but i think i should go on and pay once and be done and i would like to be slightly higher than 542 anyway
