I replaced the cross shaft bushing with poly ones and now my clutch is freakin stiff as a board and when i let off the pedal it takes a min to engage and sometimes i have to tap the pedal till it moves and engages. is this gonna get better with time or what? |

AH! So it sounds like your leg and the bushings are in need of some excersize! Better start pushing that pedal buddy |

I never tried them in the cross shaft, but i hate those poly bushings in anything I have ever used them in. If they were better, dont you think vw would have used them? I would find some bronze or brass ones to try. |

Im sure most buggy trans places can get em, or go to the hardware store and get one with a bigger od and smaller id and find a lathe and make em. easy to make and cheap. |

McMasterCarr would be another good source for alloy bushings. You could add an extra spring on the cluch arm for awhile waiting for them to loosen up to avoid removing the motor. Food for thought! |
