Alright Ive had the most irritating clicking sound you can imagine forever now, took the axles out pulled cvs apart, and normally the steel balls just fall out..Well two of the cvs, the balls were stuck in the cages. Obviously this is where the noise is coming from, when the ball gets stuck then pops back out, But I would think the cage would get worn out instead of this happening? Its obvious this is the problem, i took my good spare apart and everything just fell apart. These cvs are about 2yrs old . Anyone have an explanantion?? Just confused about how this happens.. :? :?

My guess is wheel hop. The tire bounces then snatches the cv'scausing the cage to wear making the balls stick. Or improper axle length. Just a guess.

Definitly not an axle length problem...I could kinda see the wheel hop thing though...Do get a lot of that riding in wellsville, with all the rock ledges etc..

Imagemaybe you need to polish the cages a bit, the ball should pass freely thru at all points, just dont over do it! notice the edge of the cage where the ball rides is shiny, i know it only shows on the out side in this pic, but if you have nt done that i would try it. dremmel tool and 120 grit sand paper, take off all sharp edges and anywhere the ball is thight to pass thru

yes the axles are 18 3/4 no they're not to long or too short, I just dont understand how the balls would get stuck in the cage after 2 years, you would think they would loosen up if anything, Ill hit the cages with the dremel tomorrow and see how long the hold together
