I am building a 1915 with a VZ 15 cam, 041 heads with competition vavle job and dual springs, and weber 40 carbs. I know this motor is gonna cause problems at some point for my current 3 rib. I am looking for suggestions for building a transmission to better suit this motor. Any sueegestions would be great. Also any suggestions on gearing would be helpful as well. Thanks

I've always heard 1915 and a 3 rib is a good combo. Run it till it breaks then find something better. Should be ok for a while.

the 3 rib will work, but depending on the tire you run, a hot 1915 can over power it...speed is your friend on a hill and a 3 rib jus aint fast enough on a long pull. IMO a 5 rib would be your best bet, they are tough as is and the taller gear will help on the bigger hills. i ran a 5 rib for several years between a mild stroker and 36 buckshots will no problems..of the upgrades i did to that buggy, the 5 rib trans was the best investment

if your careful with your foot, a three rib will hold up just fine for years.
