theres a circlip that holds this gear on. if this gear falls off your not goin to have reverse, correct? im thinking thats what happened to my tranny cause no reverse but all forward gears , and periodically a bangin like a small gear being tossed around inside the case off of the differential gears. im hoping it didnt tear up the diff. gears and i can put the gear back on and save the tranny :D gonna be pulling it next week to find out

Since you broke a couple of teeth off (I assume reverse slider gear-15 tooth), then most likely you damaged the case where the idler shaft goes through. Look on the front side and see if the shaft moves sideways and/or if you see any cracks on the housing where it comes through. If so, case is junk. If not, you were lucky!
