Every time i try and go into second it grinds and kicks out. Seem to have trouble going into 4th too. It goes into reverse 1st and 3rd no problem. Ive been playing around with my shifter location a lot. I'm hoping its not something else. Anybody else have a similar problem?? |

I have had this problem and it turned out to be the linkage needed adjusting. Worth looking into. |

put buggy in neutral and take you shifter off and look and make sure the linkage is in the center of the hole . you dont want it to favor the front or the back it needs to be in the center. |

also check the bushing and make sure your shifter rod is not moving side to side, we had the same problem with my sons buggy and thats what it was. |

Its your shifter. either out of adjustment or too sloppy |

still cant get it. it all started when i blew back nosecone mounts out, it shifted like a dream before. Something must have happened between then and now. |

if it just started all of a sudden then my guess is the shifter got out of adjustment but also there is a "ball" that the hockey stick fits in and many are plastic and when they get enough wear they will cause similar problems also, most folks replace the plastic with a metal ball if it dont already have it |

After it's in gear with the clutch out and motor off, does the shifter have slop? If it has the stock shift coupler, attaching the shifter to the tranny, it could be warped or the rubber missing from it. Could be ball as ridenrace stated. Also if you broke the mounts, it could have bent the hockey stick in the nosecone. Look at your hockey stick coming out of the tranny, while moving the shifter to see if it's all moving the same. |

Yeah Im going to check the hockey stick i guess, it doesn't seem to have any slop and i have the shifter coupler with the 2 bolts on both ends. |
