Another Newb question here.

My frame is setup for IRS. My question is what trannys are IRS and how do I tell the difference?

I found a 3 rib type II and it says its IRS. Can I run a 091 with IRS setup or do I have to go to a swing axle?

Thanks

Yes you are correct. But when you run a bus trans you will have to run shorter axles.

The Bus Trans will be much stronger than a car Trans. However, there are a few things you will need to consider.
1) The Nose Cone and Bell Housing will need a different mounting Bracket
2) You will need different (Type 2) CV joints and Axles
3) You will need Bus to Car Stub Axles
4) You will need to match your starter with the proper bell housing.
5) If you are using an Aircooled Engine, you might need to get longer engine studs to reach through the bottom of the bell housing.

If you do not have any of these and plan on purchasing them, I would strongly advise buy all 930 instead of Type 2. The price is not that much different but the 930 are significantly stronger.
